The ELIMINATE Project is a joint venture between Kiwanis
International and UNICEF with the goal of eliminating Maternal Neonatal Tetanus
worldwide. This tragic disease kills 160 babies a day in third-world countries,
where Tetanus is still prevalent. By inoculating a mother (cost is only $1.80),
the mother and baby are protected from Tetanus which exists in unsanitary
birthing conditions.
